Flights & Accommodation

Named UNESCO City of Gastronomy and Italy’s 2020 Capital of Culture, Parma is a hidden gem located in the beautiful valleys of the Emilia Romagna region. It is a small yet lively town, full of enchanting historical and architectural sites such as the famous Cathedral, Baptistery and Farnese Theatre.

During our event, as well as enjoying the Capoeira, we hope you’ll be able to relax, stroll around its cobbled streets and appreciate all the beauty that the city has to offer.

The best airport for Parma is Bologna (Ryanair and BA) with good train connections (the journey takes an hour and train tickets are from €8 each way). Milano Linate (Easyjet and BA), Milano Malpensa (Ryanair and BA) are also well connected (train tickets from Milano Centrale station to Parma are from €18.50 each way).

You can find information about train times and fares by looking at Trenitalia's website

Parma is busy in May when many food and arts exhibitions take place, so hotels and B&Bs can fill up and prices can spike up quickly. We have reserved some rooms at Hotel Torino, a pleasant, comfortable and newly refurbished hotel in the heart of Parma's historical centre, with the following rates:

Single room + breakfast: € 100 a night per person

Double/Twin room + breakfast: € 70 a night per person

If you wish to stay at Hotel Torino please contact the concierge at info@hotel-torino.it/+39 0521 281046 quoting "CAPOEIRA 2023" as a reference.

Other good hotels in Parma at reasonable prices include Hotel Button, more classic and quaint, also in an excellent location, close to the main square and restaurants and bars of the city centre and Novotel, slightly more expensive but modern, slick and close to the station.

If you would rather a self catering option, Parma also has a good range of Airbnbs. If you decide to go for this option, remember that it is important that your accommodation is close to our meeting point for the workshops otherwise we cannot guarantee transport to and from the venues.

Once you have booked your flights and accommodation, please let us know details of your arrival/departure dates and times, any dietary requirements you might have by filling in this form

Food in Parma

In terms of meals, the plan is to have dinner all together on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night after the Batizado. We have negotiated some good deals in some of the nicest pizzerias and restaurants in town. This is what will be included in the price:

Pizzium (Lunch on Saturday) – Pizza, dessert and a soft drink. This is a modern pizzeria making authentic neapolitan pizza at very reasonable prices (around €20 for a pizza, soft drink and dessert)

Da Mat Bistrot (Dinner on Saturday)– Fixed menu (€25 payable at the restaurant) Traditional starters - Torta fritta (traditional fried dough parcels) with Parma ham and other salumi (cold cuts), Tortelli di erbetta (traditional homemade fresh pasta with spinach and ricotta), water (soft drinks and wine available but not included in the price)

We hope this is enough information for the moment and we will be in touch in due course with more details.

In the meantime, do contact us if you have any questions or doubts (info@capoeiraheranca.it/ Professora Caterina: 07800567105)

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Parma!
